Delivery Times & Charges

How long will my order take to get to me?

Parcels are dispatched next working day and usually arrive within 3-7 working days.
Express shipped parcels arrive within 1-3 working days (this may be slightly longer for remote country areas).

What happens if I am not at home when my order is delivered?

All parcels are sent via registered post. If you are not at home to receive the parcel, a card will be left in your letterbox so you can pick it up from your closest post office. Sometimes cards get accidentally discarded, so if you believe your parcel should have arrived, check with your local post office first. If you have requested express postage we recommend you specify an address which somebody will be home (alternatively you can provide a work address) as our couriers cannot leave your parcel at the post office if you're not home. They will be returned to the depot.

Can I get my parcel express posted to a PO Box address?

No, we send express post parcels via Toll Priority couriers which do not deliver to PO Boxes. The best thing is to provide an address which there is always somebody present such as a work address. Note: A Signature is required on delivery.

Can anybody sign for my delivery or does it have to be me?

You can get anybody to sign for your delivery.

How much do I need to spend to get free delivery?

If you spend $99 or more your parcel will be delivered free of charge. Please see our delivery policy here.

Returns and Refunds

The product I got was faulty, will Your Discount Chemist refund this product?

Your Discount Chemist will refund and/or replace any damaged or faulty stock at no additional charge. We advise the customer to contact us to arrange this as some product manufacturers choose to deal with the customer directly.

Can I return prescription medication?

Due to Government laws we cannot refund or return prescription medications once they have been dispatched from our pharmacy.

I accidently ordered the wrong item, can you refund or exchange my purchase?

All other items which have been ordered incorrectly by the customer or any unwanted products will be refunded the purchase amount minus the postage charge as long as the packaging is in its original condition. Additionally, any return postage charges will be the responsibility of the customer. Proof of purchase such as a receipt is required for all returned items. You assume any risk of lost, theft or damaged goods during transit - therefore we advise you take out shipment registration of insurance with your postal carrier and that it is packed appropriately. Your Discount Chemist will not be responsible for parcels lost or damaged in transit if you choose not to insure.

Do all your stores keep all the products found on your website?

Most products we have on our website are found in our stores, however not all. The best thing is to contact your closest store to check for product availability (see store locations). Products that are stored in the fridge cannot be supplied through our website.

Why can’t I find the baby formula on the website?

Due to these items being very heavy and bulky we do not sell them on our website as the associated postage costs are too high to make it feasible.

Why can’t I find your specials on laundry powder, dishing liquid etc..?

Why have you restricted the amount I can buy for certain products?

Some items are prone to abuse and addiction, hence to provide an ethical service we restrict the sale of some highly addictive medications and call the customer to clarify their intended use.

What happens if I am after a product that is not listed on the website?

Contact our customer service team, and we see if we can get this product in.

Can I return a prescription medication?

Due to Government laws we cannot refund or return prescription medications once they have been dispatched from our pharmacy.

I am an Australian citizen overseas - Can I get my prescription medication sent overseas?

Yes, but you must have an Australian prescription written by an Australian registered Doctor. We cannot accept international prescriptions. Also, all scripts sent overseas must be paid for at the private price.

Can I order prescription items if I don’t live in Australia?

No, prescription items can only be sent if you have an Australian prescription written by an Australian registered Doctor.

How do I find a price for a prescription?

Can I fax or scan my prescription?

No, this is not allowed in Australian law. We must receive the original prescription before we can dispense and send your medication.

I don’t live in Australia, can I buy from your website?

Yes, we provide international shipping, however perfumes cannot be sent.

Can I pay via direct deposit or cheque?

No, currently we don’t accept direct deposits or cheques.

Do you have any stores I can come into?

Yes we have 9 great store locations across NSW. Please visit our store locations page for details.

Are the prices on the Your Discount Chemist website the same as your in store shops?

In the majority of cases the prices are the same but they can vary on some items. Sometimes we have online specials on items which we cannot match in store. The best is to check with your closest store location for price and availability.

How do I cancel an order?

Orders may be cancelled by contacting us ASAP via email or phone. Any orders which have already been dispatched from our pharmacy will be refunded minus the delivery charge.
